After nearly six hours of intense competition on Saturday the final result was a draw, both sides scoring 197 runs from their allotted overs.
Arkley 197-6 (44 overs) - Mayfield 197-5 (40 overs)
We were playing an 84 overs match, which means that the side batting first receives 44 overs and batting second allows 40 overs. Any overs saved in the first innings are then added to the second innings. Sounds a bit complicated but it does still allow for a draw, which was the case in this particular game. There are no restrictions on bowlers and seems to provide a good competitive match.
Ben (67), Phil K (33) were the main batsmen, two wickets each for James and Dave, good catch by Nick and an Arkley debut for Stuart Wiggins (RR's) who made an attractive 30.
